Each patient is assessed prior to the anesthetic procedure where they are graded on severity of dental disease in order for a dental plan to be created. We use full mouth dental radiographs to assess your pets overall teeth health. Radiographs allow us to look at the root of each tooth. Tooth root abscesses, root resorption and fractures are all some of the things that can be found on dental radiographs. Dentals also include a complete scale and polish to rid calculus buildup on your pet's teeth. This also gives us a clear view of what could be hiding underneath the build up. Fractures, root exposure, caries (cavities) and pockets are common indications for surgical extractions. Our doctors perform the extractions at the time of the current dental procedure. They utilize specialized tools such as elevators, drills and probes along with surgical skill to extract the potentially painful teeth in your pets mouth. The use of intra oral blocks aid in a pain free procedure when it comes to surgical dental extractions. Each patient is sent home with a dental home care kit that includes samples to help prolong the inevitable calculus build up on your pet's teeth along with a recommendation for a dental cleaning schedule. ​
