Establishment Examinations
An establishment exam for each patient is completed before any surgery or procedure is scheduled. This is to ensure the status of your pet's health so an individualized treatment plan can be created. Being able to examine the patient before surgeries allows us to confirm gender, age and health. Many underlying health conditions can arise at “simple” puppy and kitten appointments. Heart murmurs, liver shunts, kidney issues, and hypoglycemia are all common, usually hidden conditions that can pose high risk for anesthesia. Having a patient - doctor relationship is very important to the health and safety of your pet.

Annual Examinations
We expect owners to keep their pets up to date on yearly annual examinations. As time goes by the health of your pet can change rapidly, even within one year. It is important to keep the patient - doctor relationship up to date annually. This allows for easier scheduling and efficient care protocols to take place in the event your pet needs an urgent care appointment. Annual exams are required especially for patients on medications, heartworm prevention and any other on going / life long treatments. Weight changes and changes in symptoms can effect medications and dosing. It is important that our doctors are able to monitor your pet at least once per year if not more depending on the health of your pet.

Urgent Care Appointments
We have gone though several protocols with trial and error in order to figure out how to best accommodate same day urgent care appointments. The system we have in place now seems to work best for both our clients and us. It is first call first on the schedule system for established clients only. Each day a set number of appointments are reserved for urgent care. Until the day of we are not able to schedule urgent care appointments. Clients are encouraged to call at 7:30 in the morning if needing an urgent care appointment as those appointments often fill up within 15-30 min from opening. Once the reserved urgent care slots are taken for that day we are not able to accommodate any more.

An appointment must be cancelled or rescheduled within a minimum of 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. After three no show appointments a nonrefundable deposit will be required at any request to schedule in the future. If a client continues to no show that client will be terminated.

Payment
All payment is due at the time of service. We are no longer able to accommodate payment plans and we do not accept care credit. However, we do accept all major credit cards, cash and checks. Being able to write a check is a privilege, if a check is returned to us a $50.00 returned check fee will be added to original balance and the new total must be paid with cash or card only. If a client bounces a check twice that client will no longer be able to pay via check. All unpaid balances are subject to be sent to a collections agency. We keep all medications and services priced appropriately and do not offer discounts of any kind. Given the increase in cost from our distributers and reference laboratories if we do not collect payment at time of service then we are not able to pay our balances and staff accordingly.
