Angela Berry, DVMDr. Berry grew up here in Cortez and graduated high school from Montezuma-Cortez High School. After high school, she enrolled in Colorado State University earning her bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Zoology. Dr. Berry then spent another four years at CSU pursuing her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. After receiving her doctorate in 1994, she returned to Cortez to begin her veterinary career.
Dr. Berry is passionate about providing a warm and comforting environment at Vibrant Pet Animal Hospital for staff members, patients and clients. She enjoys preventative medicine, dentistry, surgery and the special needs of our geriatric pet family members. She is extremely grateful to share her professional life with such an amazing staff that provides loving care and high quality veterinary medical services in our area. When not at the hospital, Dr. Berry enjoys books, music, gardening, being outdoors and spending time with family. |
William Brock, DVM, DABVP (Canine Feline Practice)
Dr. Brock (aka Willy) joined Vibrant Pet Animal Hospital in 2015 as an associate veterinarian. Dr. Brock completed a bachelor’s degree in Animal Biotechnology from Utah State University in 2010 before attending Colorado State University for veterinary school. He graduated from CSU in 2014 with his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, he completed a small animal rotating internship at Seattle Veterinary Specialists (SVS) in Kirkland, Washington. At SVS, Dr. Brock obtained further experience in small animal internal medicine, surgery, and emergency medicine.
In 2021, Dr. Brock became certified as a Diplomate by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) specializing in Canine and Feline Practice. Dr. Brock completed a rigorous and demanding application process and certification examination in order to obtain Diplomate status. To qualify to sit for the extensive board examination, a veterinarian must complete either a residency program or have at least six years of clinical veterinary practice. In addition, two case reports, references, descriptions of practice procedures, and professional education records must pass a review committee. Dr. Brock’s case report topics included “Canine Copper-Associated Hepatopathy” and “Feline Intestinal Adenocarcinoma”. His special interests include internal medicine, diagnostic ultrasonography, and clinical pathology/cytology. When out of the hospital, Dr. Brock enjoys going on all kinds of adventures with his wife and two children, as well as obsessing over his carnivorous plant collection. He has a dog named Posy, a cat named Rue, and a ball python named Acey. The American Board of Veterinary Practitioners was established in 1978. It is one of twenty-two veterinary specialty groups accredited by a special committee of the American Board of Veterinary Specialties, a division of the American Veterinary Medical Association, to recognize excellence in clinical practice through the certification of species-oriented specialists. Over 900 veterinarians worldwide are certified in one of ABVP’s twelve practice categories: 1) Avian, 2) Beef Cattle, 3) Canine and Feline, 4) Dairy Cattle, 5) Equine, 6) Exotic Companion Mammal, 7) Feline, 8) Fish, 9) Food Animal, 10) Reptile and Amphibian, 11) Shelter Medicine, and 12) Swine Health Management. Registered Veterinary Technicians
Cayce LockhartCayce joined Vibrant Pet in 2016 while seeking a degree in Veterinary Technology. In 2021 she graduated from San Juan College with her Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. In 2022 she passed the Veterinary Technician National Exam which allowed her to obtain her Registered Veterinary Technician license. Also that year, Cayce completed additional continued education through San Juan College obtaining a certificate in Veterinary Practice Management. This fall (2023) she hopes to take the Certified Veterinary Practice Management national exam in order to become a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager. Cayce enjoys continuing her education and traveling to veterinary conferences in order to gain more knowledge to better serve you and your pets. Cayce has always possessed a special bonding capability with animals.
When not at work or studying Cayce enjoys spending time with friends and helping on the family ranch. She has five dogs and two horses of her own. |
Tyrell "Ty" BucherTy joined the Vibrant Pet Team in June of 2015. In 2019 he earned his Certified Veterinary Assistant degree. In 2023, Ty completed an experienced-based program earning is Registered Technician Certificate. He also manages his personal in-home pet sitting service. His deep love for animals continues to grow everyday.
Ty loves being a father to his two children and a husband to his lovely wife. Ty has his own funny farm that is ever changing with animal rescues. |
Veterinary Assistants
Amanda AntholzAmanda grew up in Cortez, Colorado. In 2017, Amanda started working at Vibrant Pet as a veterinary assistant. She is very happy to be part of our team. She has been in other employment fields throughout her life, but feels that choosing animal care has been her best choice to date. Animals have always been a special part of her life.
Outside of work she enjoys camping, fishing, riding horses, shooting, snuggling kittens and spending time with family. She has three dogs, three cats and four horses. |
Suede Hillyer Suede joined our team in September 2020 as a veterinary assistant. Suede has 2 chihuahuas to play dress up on, a snuggly lab mix, two pretty kitties, and usually a foster or two. When not caring for animals, She enjoys traveling, being outdoors, and being involved in our community.

Kelsey HarrisKelsey spent her childhood in California and moved back to Cortez to finish high school. She initially attended college and worked in the medical field before deciding to follow her passion. She is a Certified Veterinary Assistant and is currently enrolled in San Juan College to complete her Certification in Veterinary Technology. Kelsey enjoys all types of animals and has had tarantulas, iguanas, chameleons, snakes, mice, guinea pigs, hamsters, casts, dogs, goats, horses, cows and chickens as pets. She enjoys the ocean, camping, fishing and hiking as well as various craft projects. Kelsey has worked at Vibrant Pet since November 2022 and enjoys both the staff and the 'fur babies' that she works with every day.

Laruen ButlerLaruen is attending New Mexico State University to work towards earning her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. She has been interning at Vibrant Pet for several years now. She enjoys working with both small and large animals, many of which live at her home.

Hospital Attendants
Isis JaimeIsis grew up in Mancos, Colorado. She graduated Mancos High School in 2020. Some of her hobbies include going to the gym, being outdoors, spending time with family, and watching/playing sports. Her cats and dogs have her heart. She loves working at Vibrant Pet Animal Hospital with amazing staff by her side. She enjoys working with the animals and feels that she learns something new everyday!

Sammie BurdSammie joined our team in September 2022. She loves helping with all animals that come thru the door. She will most likely have Sasha (a clinic cat) on her shoulder when you see her. Sammie enjoys working with such wonderful people and learning new things everyday.
When not working as a veterinary attendant, she loves to spend time with her animals and family. You can find her outdoors whether it's hiking, fishing or camping.
